The project involving our Civil Engineering Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Osman Gençel received the gold medal at the 10th International Invention Fair – TÜRKPATENT ISIF’25, organized by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) within the scope of TEKNOFEST.

Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and hosted by TEKNOFEST, the award ceremony took place at Istanbul Atatürk Airport with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

The project team, which included Prof. Dr. Osman Gençel, was awarded the gold medal with their study titled “Production of 3D Layered Artificial Aggregate with Thermal Energy Efficiency, Characterization and 3D Concrete Printing.”

The project was carried out within the framework of the Presidency of Strategy and Budget Specialization Area Program with the participation of Prof. Dr. Osman Gençel from Bartın University, Prof. Dr. Serkan Subaşı from Düzce University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sarı and Assist. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hekimoğlu from Karadeniz Technical University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Er from Fırat University, and Muhammed Maraşlı, Board Member of Fibrobeton Building Elements.

In the program, 470 inventions from 23 countries were exhibited. Participants included teams from Türkiye, Belgium, Croatia, Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, Cameroon, Azerbaijan, Canada, Oman, Afghanistan, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Romania, Palestine, South Korea, and China.

As our Faculty, we sincerely congratulate our faculty member Prof. Dr. Osman Gençel and his project team on their innovative work crowned with the gold medal, and we wish them continued success.
