Orientation Program Held at Our Faculty



An orientation program was organized at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design of Bartın University to help newly enrolled students adapt to university life.

The program began with a welcoming speech delivered by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Handan UCUN ÖZEL. In her address, Prof. Dr. UCUN ÖZEL emphasized the strong academic background, student-centered approach, and growing opportunities of Bartın University, and invited students to be an active part of the faculty under the university’s motto “Together for a Better Future.” She highlighted that university years are not only about academic courses but also a valuable time for social, cultural, and personal development. Prof. Dr. UCUN ÖZEL expressed her satisfaction with welcoming the students into the faculty family and wished them success in their new academic journey.

Following the opening, various informative sessions were held. Res. Asst. Belkıs BÜYÜKPATPAT introduced the Rectorate Communication Center (RIMER), and gave presentations on the Zero Waste Project, as well as water and energy efficiency. She also provided information on transportation and accommodation opportunities. Lecturer Yasin DEMİREL presented the services of the Information Technologies Department, including UBYS, eduroam, and e-mail. Lecturer Ülkü ÖZGÜVEN CEYLAN introduced the facilities of the Library and Documentation Department, while Deputy Branch Manager Memduh ŞAHİN provided details about student affairs and registration procedures.

Representing the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, IT Specialist Erdal AYDIN gave information on social, cultural, and sports activities. Lecturer Kardelen YAMAN from the Office of International Relations introduced the Erasmus program and opportunities for international students. Assoc. Prof. Serdar ALLI, Director of the Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEM), informed students about online learning facilities and the effective use of digital tools. Finally, Lecturer Pelin Su ÇAKIN presented the services of the Career Planning Application and Research Center, highlighting activities that will support students in shaping their career goals.

Throughout the orientation program, new students had the chance to become familiar with the university’s different units, ask questions about areas of interest, and gain their first impressions of university life. The program not only contributed to a strong start in their academic journey but also strengthened the sense of pride in becoming part of the faculty family.
