Our academicians strengthened international scientific collaboration by participating in the ICFD2025 and AFI2025 Conferences within the scope of joint research conducted with Tohoku University.
Assoc. Prof. Abid Ustaoğlu and Assoc. Prof. Bilal Kurşuncu, faculty members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design of our university, visited Sendai, Japan, as part of their ongoing international collaborative research projects with Assoc. Prof. Junnosuke Okajima, who is affiliated with the Institute of Fluid Science at Tohoku University.
Within the scope of R&D activities, previously initiated joint projects were advanced to a further stage, and technical and scientific discussions were held on new research topics as well as future collaborative projects. During the visit, numerical and experimental studies were conducted, the obtained results were evaluated, and plans for joint publications and project development were discussed.
In addition, the research team participated in ICFD 2025 – 22nd International Conference on Flow Dynamics and AFI2025 – 25th International Symposium on Advanced Fluid Information, held in Sendai, Japan, where they presented their ongoing research to the international scientific community. The presentations and scientific discussions enabled the dissemination of ongoing projects on an international platform and provided opportunities to explore future collaborations.
This visit contributed to strengthening the international research network of our university and established a solid foundation for sustainable and long-term academic cooperation between Türkiye and Japan.
As part of the visit, several Japanese academicians from Tohoku University were invited to our university. Following the discussions, it is planned that these academicians will visit our institution in the near future to deliver seminars and presentations. These visits are expected to enhance academic interaction and foster the development of new collaborative projects.
