BARÜ Highlighted the Importance of Artificial Intelligence in Smart Logistics at TEKNOFEST
Bartın University (BARÜ) continued its “Science Café” activities within the framework of the “Science and Society Meetings”, which aim to make scientific studies more understandable and accessible to the public, at TEKNOFEST 2025. The festival, held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, hosted Assoc. Prof. Ersin ALAYBEYOĞLU, a faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design, who met with young participants at the Higher Education Council (YÖK) Science Communication stand.
In his presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Smart Logistics”, Assoc. Prof. ALAYBEYOĞLU discussed the current use of AI technologies in the logistics sector. Tracing the historical development from the discovery of electricity to the invention of the transistor and advances in telecommunications, he explained how these milestones paved the way for today’s smart systems in logistics. He emphasized that artificial intelligence has become indispensable in areas such as autonomous vehicles, smart storage systems, and object recognition, noting that ongoing technological progress will continue to advance these applications.
The event was also attended by Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Abid USTAOĞLU and Assoc. Prof. Bilal KURŞUNCU, as well as research assistants Şudeha KALTAKKIRAN and Hakan BÜYÜKPATPAT from our faculty. Students from various departments of BARÜ also joined the festival, proudly representing the university while experiencing the excitement of TEKNOFEST.
The program, which attracted great interest from young participants, concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
